Brannan Atkinson, APR, Joins Firm As Partner
FEB. 18, 2014 – Nashville, Tenn. – Amy Atkinson Communications LLC has added Brannan Atkinson, APR, as a partner.
He will concentrate on online marketing, content marketing, analytics and copywriting for the firm’s clients. He brings a diverse background, having worked with numerous business-to-business clients, non-profit associations and the popular “Red White and Food” grassroots campaign to allow wine sales in grocery stores.
Amy Atkinson, APR, founded Amy Atkinson Communications in early 2013 after leaving Gaylord Entertainment as vice president of marketing and public relations when the company sold to Marriott at the end of 2012.
“Brannan’s skills round out the offerings for Amy Atkinson Communications,” said Amy Atkinson. “Separately, we’ve had many unique work experiences but we’ve both spent significant time with traditional media relations as well as digital marketing. We have worked with large, publicly traded companies and in smaller start-up ventures. Together, our combined experiences and talents will help us offer clients the best integrated marketing to meet their business goals.
“Plus, it’s just nice to work with someone you respect and trust more than anyone else you know,” said Atkinson about her husband. The couple married in 1996.
Combined, the two of them have more than 40 years of marketing, PR and social media experience.
Brannan Atkinson most recently served as a consultant to LogoGarden, where he helped the company improve the company’s Google AdWords campaigns, search engine optimization and analytics.
Before that, Atkinson was chief marketing officer for Raven Internet Marketing Tools, where he helped the company achieve then-record months of new customer acquisition and website traffic. Atkinson oversaw the company’s marketing team, which included search engine optimization, email marketing, content development and customer education for the diverse suite of online tools.
In 1999, Atkinson joined Atkinson Public Relations, the public relations firm founded by his mother, Sue Atkinson, and served as its president from 2009 to 2011.
“The concept of a marketing firm is evolving,” Brannan Atkinson said. “Clients want experienced counsel but they also want flexible terms because markets change quickly. Having a small firm with a cadre of consultants for graphic design, video, media buying, event management and more allows us to offer a full range of services, manage campaigns, step in during times of heavy workload – and offer great value.”
Brannan Atkinson is a Nashville native. He attended Ensworth and Montgomery Bell Academy before graduating from the University of Richmond. He currently serves as secretary of the Nashville chapter of the Public Relations Society of America and on the board of directors of Affordable Housing Resources.
